Abstract
The case presented involves an 88‐year‐old woman with sudden onset of right‐sided hemiballism that persisted for an amazing 15 years. The video demonstrates wide amplitude choreic movements of the proximal and distal limbs of the right side, as well as of the axial musculature. Classical teaching dictates that this patient has a lesion in the subthalamic nucleus. Here then is a prime example where classical teaching is wrong! © 2011 Movement Disorder Society
